A project shipment is a managed sequence of operations

A complex delivery requires a single plan from the survey of the cargo and the sites through to handover at the site. Every stage affects route feasibility, the equipment mix, permits and the work schedule.

  1. Dedicated department

Project shipments are handled by a separate unit responsible for the engineering and operational coordination of the task.

  2. Engineering preparation

Before movement begins, we work out the weight and dimension parameters, the route, cargo securing and balancing.

  3. Multimodal framework

We combine road, rail, sea, Ro-Lo and terminal operations into a single sequence.

  4. Management through to the site

We arrange permits, loading, escort, unloading and on-site installation according to the agreed plan.

What cargo we transport

Project logistics is used for shipments that cannot be organized under a standard container or full-truckload model.

Cargo categories and examples
CategoryProduct examples
Industrial equipmentEquipment for manufacturing sites and import substitution projects
Construction and infrastructure cargoEquipment and units for the construction of large facilities
Heavy indivisible unitsCargo that requires modular transport, special securing and escort
Special equipment and vehiclesEquipment transported by roll-on, on heavy-haul trailers or as part of another agreed scheme

Types of transportation

The route is built from the applicable transport solutions and the operations at the interfaces between them.

Railway solution

Project shipments by rail to be included in a complex route for heavy or oversized cargo.

150+ completed shipments

Ro-Lo and the maritime leg

Ro-Lo and the maritime leg

Roll-on loading onto the vessel for equipment, heavy and project cargo without crane infrastructure where applicable.

The Sedanka vessel

River logistics

The river leg for oversized, general and bulk cargo in combination with rail and road transport.

River + rail + road

Transportation geography

We design routes within Russia, for imported equipment and to remote regions; feasibility is determined after a survey of the site and the cargo.

Industrial sites in Russia

Delivery of equipment and process units to plants under construction and operating facilities.

Imports from China

Multimodal delivery of industrial equipment with coordination of the sea, rail, road and terminal stages.

Arctic and remote regions

Project logistics for deliveries to regions with complex infrastructure and special work conditions.

350+ units of equipment

Heavy-haul trailers, modular platforms, escort vehicles and mobile cranes for project operations.

The Sedanka vessel

Our own multifunctional vessel for maritime project shipments within a multimodal scheme.

150+ rail shipments

Completed railway shipments of a project nature.

Engineering calculations

Cargo securing and balancing calculations, route engineering and permit handling.

Ro-Lo technology

Roll-on loading of equipment, on platforms, without port cranes where applicable.

One responsible partner

We coordinate the entire framework: from the first survey to unloading and installation at the site.

Cases we handle

The projects below reflect the confirmed areas of work of the project transportation department.

Tianjin — Dobrino

Transportation of industrial equipment from China to a manufacturing site.

Northern Sea Route

Delivery of cargo to Arctic regions as part of project logistics.

Gigafactory

Logistics for the construction of a large manufacturing facility.

Maritime project leg

Shipments using the Sedanka as an element of the multimodal scheme.

Stages of organizing the shipment

  1. Study the task

We receive technical information about the equipment, weight, dimensions, route and sites.

  2. Conduct the survey

We take measurements and verify the parameters needed to develop the delivery technology.

  3. Develop the project

We build the route, the securing scheme, the equipment mix, the operations plan and the checkpoints.

  4. Arrange permits

We obtain the required special permits and coordinate the work with road authorities.

  5. Prepare and load

We select the equipment, organize loading, securing and transfer of the cargo to the first leg of the route.

  6. Escort the delivery

We monitor the execution of the shipment, the joining of the legs and the completion of the agreed operations.

  7. Offload at the site

We organize unloading and installation on site within the approved plan.

Comprehensive logistics support

We complement the project logistics package with the services needed to deliver equipment from the manufacturer to the site.

Customs Clearance

Support for equipment import within the same framework as logistics.

Sea Freight

Organization of the port and sea stages, including project schemes where applicable.

Rail Freight

The project rail leg and its connection with onward road delivery.

Warehousing Services

Coordination of terminal, transshipment and warehouse operations before handover at the site.

Frequently asked questions
